Shield tunneling technologies

Special foaming agents for the bubble shielding tunneling method (LT2)

Overview

Foaming status of special foaming agents LT2
The bubble shield tunneling method is a method while injecting air bubbles created by special foaming agents into the face or chamber. The injected air bubbles not only improve the fluidity and watertightness of excavated soil, but also prevent the soil from sticking to the chamber, thus enabling smooth excavation while maintaining the stability of the cutting face. Our newly developed special foaming agents for the bubble shielding tunneling method (LT2) are suitable for all soil types, from clayey to gravelly soil.

Advantages

  • Because of its high foaming, the concentration is about one-third of that of conventional products, so less is needed.
  • The main ingredient is a highly safe anionic activator, and the amount of the activator used is small, which reduces the load on the aquatic environment.
