Shield tunneling technologies

Micro Multi Box Shield method

Overview

The Micro Multi Box Shield method is non-excavation tunnelling method for constructing large cross-sectional roads, railroad stations, underground parking lots, etc. In this method, the rectangular shield tunnels are used to excavate the outer shell of a large cross-section, and the rectangular shield tunnels are connected to each other to form a structure, the inside of which is excavated with earth-moving equipment to complete the tunnel. By adjusting the connection dimensions between the shield tunnels, the planned cross-section can be enlarged or reduced, and curved lines can be constructed. In addition, effective spaces for ventilation, evacuation, management, etc. can be secured inside the structure, and a reasonable planned cross-section structure can be obtained. This method is particularly effective for building underground structures with large cross-sections, such as parking lots under roads.
