4D-Super NATM

Overview

Measurement control plays an important role in ensuring the quality of NATM tunneling. However, the existing methods are based on intermittent and limited data, and the initial displacement is also not fully grasped. To solve this problem, we have developed 4D-Super NATM, which automatically predicts the displacement at any given time in three dimensions from three-dimensional point cloud data near the face obtained by cross-sectional measurement using a high-performance total station in the early stage of excavation and three dimensional numerical analysis tables.

Advantages

  • Displacement at any given time can be predicted at any given position in three dimensions, thus contributing to the construction of a stable tunnel over the long term.
  • Displacement is predicted based on the distribution of displacement at the initial stage of excavation, which enables highly accurate prediction.
  • Displacement can be visually displayed to allow for the distribution of large displacement locations and prediction of displacement.

Features

Fig. 1 shows a conceptual diagram of the measurement management system using NATM. It consists of the following elements:
1. Three-dimensional cross-sectional measurement using a high-performance total station
2. Three-dimensional numerical analysis table
3. Displacement prediction and visualization software
