Technologies to maintain and preserve the area around construction sites

Human detection system using a far-infrared camera

Overview

Photography in tunnel premises (far-infrared camera)
Preventing contact disasters between construction machinery and workers at construction sites is an important issue. Conventional human detection systems using visible light cameras posed problems such as reduced detection accuracy in dimly lit areas and environments with dust, and the inability to detect people at long distances.
This system uses a temperature-sensing far-infrared camera and AI (artificial intelligence) to detect people (workers) and objects (construction machinery), and ensures the safety of workers even in situations where detection is difficult with conventional visible-light cameras, such as at night or in dimly lit tunnels.

Advantages

  • Since it senses the temperature of people and objects, it can be applied in situations without a light source, such as at night or in a dimly lit tunnel.
  • Less susceptible to dust and dense fog compared to visible light cameras.
