Technologies to maintain and preserve the area around construction sites

Toda type Active Noise Control System "TANC"

Overview

This device reduces the low frequency sounds caused by engines of construction machinery, with the aim of reducing the noise generated at construction sites and being considerate to neighbors.
The installation of sound insulation walls (panels) had been used as a conventional construction noise control measure, however while these have a significant effect on high frequency sounds, they have no obvious effect on low frequency sounds. In addition, even in the rooms of neighboring buildings, the exterior walls and windowpanes could block out high frequency sounds, but it was difficult to block out low frequency sounds. Since this was considered as a problem, the Toda type Active Noise Control System "TANC", a noise control technology using Active Noise Control (ANC), was developed as a method to reduce the low frequency sounds. By combining this low-frequency band countermeasure TANC with the conventional construction noise countermeasure and the high-frequency band countermeasure using the exterior walls and windowpanes of neighboring houses, a wide-band noise reduction can be realized.
