BOSS (Broken Off Specimens by Splitting)

Overview

BOSS is a test method capable of directly inspecting the strength of structural concrete.
Unlike core tests, BOSS can be easily sampled without damaging the inside of the structure concrete or the reinforcement, and this test method solves various problems such as repairs after sampling the specimen.
In addition, by placing BOSS specimens on concrete structures at the time of new installation, it is possible to monitor durability such as compressive strength, neutralization depth, chloride ion content, and chloride ion depth due to aging of structural concrete.

Features

Direct inspection of structural concrete strength

BOSS are sampled in almost the same environment as structural concrete, so the required performance of structural concrete can be directly confirmed.

Durability monitoring

If BOSS are left as they are without cutting off, they can also be used for durability monitoring of concrete structures (e.g., neutralization depth, chloride ion penetration depth, quantity, etc.).
