Overview
The concrete lining of mountain tunnels must have high durability because it is difficult to repair after the tunnel is in service, but after demolding, moisture dissipates from the exposed concrete surface and cracks are likely to occur. In order to prevent this, moisture curing is necessary, but it has been a problem because the equipment is huge and expensive. In response to this, we have developed, in cooperation with Mashino Co.,Ltd., a "WALK Mist method (auto traveling type all-around mist spray method)" with simple equipment and high wetting effect. This method is based on the basic structure of "Tunnel Mist" manufactured by Co.,Ltd. It is a cost effective method in which a movable device equipped with mist spray nozzles, etc., runs automatically and repeatedly on the rail of an arbitrarily set section, spraying mist over the entire circumference of the lining concrete for a long period of time.
